Bougainvillea Safari Lodge

Bougainvillea safari lodge is perfect for travelers on a slightly tighter budget. Although it is not as luxurious as some of the other properties in the area, it provides outstanding value.

It is located on the outskirts of Karatu town, midway between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater, about 13 km from Ngorongoro's Lodoare gate and 20 km from Lake Manyara. It's a 3 hour drive from Arusha.

The lodge consists of 32 spacious cottages set in and around lush gardens. There is a fireplace in every room and a refreshing swimming pool for cooling down after a long day on safari. The food here is excellent, and the bar, unlike a lot of other lodges in the area, is very affordable.

The guesthouse can arrange guided walks around the area's beautiful coffee farms, as well as cultural visits to the Iraqw, Hadzabe or Datogo communities.
