Karatu Simba Lodge

With its Iraqw tribe neighborhood and farmland setting, Karatu Simba offers a slice of life only to be found in rural Tanzania. It is located about a 30 minute drive from the gate of Lake Manyara National Park, approximately 4 kilometers off the main road to the entry of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The lodge has 13 guest accommodation tents, styled as cottages with wooden floor, solid attached bathroom with shower, and a private deck with safari chairs. All the rooms are tastefully and simply furnished with hand made furniture of African hardwood, including double and twin-beds with mosquito netting, bedside tables, and a writing desk.

You can expect farm-fresh food and delicious fresh roasted coffee from the neighboring plantations. Other facilities include a swimming pool with sun-deck, evening campsite, laundry, and free WiFi.

Activities at the lodge include village walks and visits to local markets, offering a great opportunity for visitors to experience a little more of local life.
